Taking prescription opioids often starts off innocently, possibly for an injury. Then this scourge can lead to an addiction that wreaks havoc on someone's life.

Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and the Arizona Broadcasters Association (ABA) recognized this issue and this opportune time to investigate the prescription opioid epidemic. Through the use of research and storytelling, the documentary will inform Arizonans on this epidemic.

“Hooked Rx: From Prescription to Addiction” will reveal different aspects of the issue in Arizona’s own backyard. Numerous students from the Cronkite School’s professional programs worked to create, broadcast and promote this revealing and informational documentary.

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, all Arizona TV broadcast stations and most radio stations will broadcast this investigative report without any commercial interruptions. Check your local listings for times.
